The BR Maikel is a pair of men's riding breeches with a full silicone seat in a graphic pattern. The Soft Micro Touch fabric is light, breathable, quick-drying and water-repellent, and moves in every direction thanks to four-way stretch. With slash pockets and a deep phone pocket, these are technical breeches that stay usable in training, at competitions and around the yard.
About these breeches
The Maikel has a full silicone seat: the silicone covers the whole seat and continues down the inside of the legs. That gives you more hold in the saddle than silicone knee patches, because you have grip across your entire contact area instead of only at knee height. The silicone is applied in a graphic pattern, which makes the area a little less solid than a completely closed layer.
The fabric is Soft Micro Touch, SMT for short. It feels light and supple and combines three properties that each play their part in the saddle: it is breathable, it dries quickly and it is water-repellent. Breathable and quick-drying matter during an intensive training session, water-repellent above all when you ride outside and it starts to drizzle: moisture soaks into the fabric less quickly.
On top of that the fabric has four-way stretch. Four-way stretch means the weave gives both lengthways and widthways. When mounting, sitting the trot and riding in light seat, the breeches follow your movement and then pull smooth again, instead of riding up or straining at the knee.
In practice these are breeches you can wear outside the saddle too. Besides the usual pockets there is a deep phone pocket, where your device stays put when you bend over or sit on your horse. That makes the Maikel usable for a full day of yard work and riding, not just for the hour in the arena.
The fit is comfortably cut with a modern look. BR gives no further details about the waistband, the fastening or the finish at the bottom of the leg.
